Anita

Anita is a Remedial Bowen Therapist of Fascial Dynamic Bowen Therapy
who particularly enjoys working to address and maintain the reduction or elimination of chronic pain and inflammation, improving mobility and posture, when all other approaches have otherwise ceased to give a solution.

Fascial Dynamic Bowen Therapy

In Bowen Therapy, a cross-fibre 'Bowen move' is applied accordingly to strategic locations on the fascial planes and junctions, influencing the fascial mechanoreceptors (sensory nerve endings in the fascia) creating body heat and bio-electric energy, allowing the fibres to separate, activating hydration in the bodies tissues and activating your bodies own healing response.
Working with Trigger Points, Acupuncture sites, Fascial Meridians and the latest research in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Bowen Therapy has a positive effect on muscles, nerves, joints, organ systems and other organic complaints. A treatment can include designated wait times between moves giving the body opportunity to promote homeostasis of the body tissues and systems.

Distinguished and Famous people from Warrumbungle

🔭 Fred Watson

Fred Watson's work at Siding Spring combined the operation of major telescopes with a gift for explaining astronomy. As astronomer-in-charge, he oversaw scientific work involving the Anglo-Australian Telescope and UK Schmidt Telescope, including large surveys of stars and galaxies. Public talks, radio and Coonabarabran's Festival of the Stars brought the subject to audiences beyond the observatory. His interests also included protecting dark skies. The Yorkshire-born astronomer's professional connection with the district helped make a technical research site part of a lively public conversation about the universe, occasionally with a guitar in the mix.

📷 David Malin

David Malin joined the Anglo-Australian Observatory as photographic scientist in 1975, shortly after regular observations began with its new telescope at Siding Spring. Over twenty-six years he developed methods for extracting and presenting information from astronomical photographs. The resulting images reached both scientific audiences and art exhibitions, showing that careful photographic work could reveal structures too faint for an ordinary view of the sky. His connection is the research and imaging associated with the observatory, rather than a claim of local birth. The photographs helped carry the district's astronomical work to viewers around the world.

🐎 Hugh Bowman

Hugh Bowman came from Dunedoo and a family of horsemen, with both his father and grandfather riding as amateur jockeys. Country shows, picnic races, campdrafting and polocrosse formed part of his early experience. He began a formal jockey apprenticeship in 1997 and later developed his career in Sydney. His partnership with Winx brought extraordinary prominence, alongside other major race successes and induction into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame. Dunedoo's place in that story is the rural upbringing and practical horsemanship behind a career that later extended into international racing.
